Is river ward gay

somebody made a gay romance mod for river which apparently works— i haven’t tried it yet, but the comments on nexus say male V has voiced dialogue in game for the romance (?tab=posts). The straight answer is: no, unfortunately male V cannot romance River in the game. River Ward is written as a heterosexual male character and thus he is exclusively a romance option for female V.

But why is River such a popular choice for players and what is his overall role as an NPC in Cyberpunk ? Let‘s dive deeper!.

I'm currently playing a female V, have romanced Judy a while ago, and recently did this follow-up with River. I talked to him about personal stuff, but I didn't have to romance him, although I got the option at the end of the conversation turned him down.

I chose the options that felt natural to talk about to be a friend, but if I remember correctly there were other more 'uncaring' dialogue choices that would probably avoid any stuff that might be seen as flirting altogether. Mod removes the forced dialogue for femV's who ether are lesbians or just do not want a forced romantic background conversation. There is a similar moment for straight femV's with Kerry. On the boat, guy V's get a choice between kissing him, or saying no. Female V's don't. We just automatically go for it, even if we have never tried to kiss him beforehand.

For male V, especially for hetero males playing male V, there's at least two instances with Kerry where we were uncomfortably, intimately, close that I really didn't like, but whatever, it's a scripted cutscene, just had to endure it.

Also, on the boat, that got really awkward with the face-to-face and even the beach, the way they make male V sit is too much like a woman sitting with her lover, but I'll get to that later.
